English Symmetrical

This English Opening - symmetrical is named after Englishman Howard Stauton. When Botvinnik started  playing this variation  in 30s and 40s it bacame quite respectful. In  the 60 s and 70s  this opening joined to the mainstream and  it is still played  till  today. Symmetrical  Variation  is very popular because it has rich possibilities from  countergambits  to positional  maneuvering.  See in Theory table development of White and Black.
